LangCred: Language Credentialing Made Easy
Language Credentialing Made Easy (LangCred), developed by CLASSRoad, is a first-of-its-kind interactive resource website and displays world language U.S. teacher certification routes for the 50 states, DC, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
LangCred users can easily research and compare key requirements for state world language teacher certification, create an account to bookmark routes, participate in discussions, and consult relevant resources and glossary of terms and acronyms.
LangCred is the first site to deploy such a plethora of information in one location. While particularly exciting for teachers of critical languages, the website will be of tremendous value to all world language teachers, program administrators, and personnel.
The project is funded by STARTALK—a U.S. federal government initiative launched in 2006 to expand and improve the teaching and learning of strategically important yet less commonly taught world languages (LCTLs)–Arabic, Chinese, Dari, Hindi, Persian, Russian, Swahili, Turkish, and Urdu—in the U.S.
